CardDav: simple service discovery working
Hey!
As you may have noticed using CardDav, configuring addressbook url can be really annoying since you have to enter the full url which can be pretty damn long.
Brace yourselves, you won’t have to do it anymore soon!
Indeed, thanks to Evert from Fruux.com who gave me helpful hints, I managed to implement a basic service discovery into CardDav.
Now, the CardDAV server URL will be enough to automatically find the addressbook url, so basically you’ll just have to type dav.fruux.com or google.com/m8/carddav (plus your login/password) to synchronize your contacts.
Added to the ease to use the app, it’s also a big step forward for the calendar synchronization (you won’t have to enter your calendar url aside your addressbook url).
The 1.0.1.0 is still in validation @ Microsoft, so this will be released in the next update (1.0.2.0) which I hope will be released before the end of the month.
See ya! :-)
