I know it’s been a long time, but I recently get back the courage to work on this project again.
I’m sorry but I won’t improve the current synchronization of contacts (my apologies for the ones who have issues), but I started to add a simple CalDAV support to the application.
It won’t be much (at first), but at least it will be better than nothing.
I’ll also add a debug mode for the ones having issues (with contacts or/and calendar) so I’ll be able to collect logs and errors to improve the versions to come after the next one.
I’l proud to finally announce the release of the 188.8.131.52 version of the CardDav application on the Windows Phone Store.
The main new feature is the reworked and improved interface, along with the German translation thanks to Patrik from the Posteo.de support.
There is the full list of changes:
- Germain translation added
- New interface
- Service discovery (url to enter in configuration panel is shorter)
- Support for Posteo.de service
- Bug fixes
- Beta vCard 4.0 support
As always, you can download it from the store.
See you next time for a surprise!
This is the first glance to the new CardDav interface, which will be released along the simple service discovery in the next release to come (184.108.40.206), before the end of the month.
See ya! =)
I’m glad to announce the release of the 220.127.116.11 version of CardDav, including the following changes:
- French translation added
- Progression status displayed while synchronizing
- Synchronization completed notification
- Both way synchronization (server to device, device to server) with two possible policy (phone wins or server wins)
- Sending to server locally created contacts
It is now available on the store
See you soon for screenshots of the new interface I’m working on for the next release! ;-)
As you may have noticed using CardDav, configuring addressbook url can be really annoying since you have to enter the full url which can be pretty damn long.
Brace yourselves, you won’t have to do it anymore soon!
Indeed, thanks to Evert from Fruux.com who gave me helpful hints, I managed to implement a basic service discovery into CardDav.
Now, the CardDAV server URL will be enough to automatically find the addressbook url, so basically you’ll just have to type dav.fruux.com or google.com/m8/carddav (plus your login/password) to synchronize your contacts.
Added to the ease to use the app, it’s also a big step forward for the calendar synchronization (you won’t have to enter your calendar url aside your addressbook url).
The 18.104.22.168 is still in validation @ Microsoft, so this will be released in the next update (22.214.171.124) which I hope will be released before the end of the month.
See ya! :-)
